Today, stunt kites can be divided into Power Kites/Traction Kites and stunt kites that are stretched over a pole. The latter tend to have a frame made of a carbon fiber tube and are strung with high-quality cloths, such as Icarex. Through much development work, they are aerodynamically very sophisticated and usually perfectly matched to their kite-specific profile. There are kites for regular recreational pilots, stunt kites for power or speed flight and stunt kites for modern trick flying. The latter are "high-tech toys" that provide ambitious stunt kite pilots with many trick flight possibilities.
